Hens For Homes
At hens for homes we specialize in teaching beginners and organizations how to choose and care for chickens. We welcome and encourage the whole family to come along to choose their hens.
We hold beginners sessions twice a month, these sessions are tailored to the individual group but usually cover choosing your hens, feeding, housing, healthcare, common ailments, etc as well as a practical meet the hens / handling / wing clipping session and question time.
We supply complete starter kits, including the hens and hen housing to order (display models are available to collect on the day), so that you go home completely prepared for life with your new friends.
After sales support is only a text message or email away. Being a Qualified veterinary nurse there is not much I can’t help with. I want you to be happy with your hens and happy with the service I provide.
I also offer a boarding service if you go on holiday and a re-homing service if you feel you are unable to continue looking after your birds at any time – for any reason – no questions asked, just a good home offered.
I am happy to take in any unwanted hens or cockerels, pure bred or hybrid, whether purchased from myself or elsewhere. I ask for a small donation to cover the costs of quarantining the new arrivals and ask that you bring any feed / bedding / feeder & drinker or other bits that you no longer require as this helps the birds settle in. Cockerels will be offered to new homes, hens usually stay at Hens for Homes for the remainder of their lives.
